How do we know that afflictions are good for the righteous?

In Psalm 119:71, the psalmist states, 'It is good for me that I have been afflicted'. This statement underscores the idea that trials often lead believers to grow spiritually and recognize their need for God. Afflictions encourage individuals to pray sincerely and to meditate on the Scriptures, which provides comfort and wisdom.
