How do we know that apostasy is a real danger for Christians?

Throughout the New Testament, we see warnings about apostasy, suggesting that even those who have been exposed to the truth can fall away. In Hebrews 6:4-6, it describes those who have once been enlightened and yet fall away as being nearly impossible to restore again to repentance. This indicates that apostasy is not only a theoretical danger but a practical one that true believers must guard against.
