How do we know that being filled with the Spirit is important?

Ephesians 5:18 instructs us to be filled with the Spirit rather than becoming intoxicated with wine or the distractions of the world. This filling is not a self-generated act but a work of God, emphasizing the importance of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life. The Holy Spirit's role is to reveal Christ and guide believers into all truth, making it essential for us to be where Christ is preached—thus enabling us to be continually filled with the Spirit. A Spirit-filled life leads to true wisdom, submission, and fruitful living in accordance with God's will.
