How do we know that believers are conscious after death?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible assures us that believers are fully conscious and in God's presence immediately after death.

Scripture teaches that after death, the souls of believers are not in a state of sleep or inactivity but are fully conscious and alive with God. 2 Corinthians 5:8 expresses this, stating, 'We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.' This implies an immediate transition from life on earth to full communion with Christ in heaven, where believers experience joy and peace.
