How do we know that believers are free from the law?

The freedom from the law for believers is grounded in the redemptive work of Christ. Romans 7:4 states that, 'Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ.' This emphasizes that it is not our actions that free us, but Christ’s sacrificial death that severed our connection to the law.
