How do we know that believers are saints?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are considered saints because they are set apart by God through His election and the redemptive work of Christ (Hebrews 2:11).

The Bible describes all believers as saints, derived from the Greek word meaning 'holy ones.' In Hebrews 2:11, it states, "For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one." This signifies that believers are sanctified—set apart—as a result of the Triune God's work: the Father elects them, the Son redeems them, and the Holy Spirit regenerates them. Each believer is thus declared holy before God and, by virtue of their faith in Christ, shares in the divine nature, which leads to a transformed life that reflects their saintly status.
