How do we know that believers do not sin?

Answered in 2 sources

Believers do not sin because their new nature in Christ is incapable of sinning (1 John 3:9).

1 John 3:9 states that whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin, indicating that the new nature given to believers at the moment of regeneration cannot sin. This does not mean that believers will not sin in their actions; rather, it signifies that their identity in Christ is one of purity and righteousness. The essence of their new birth, which is of the Spirit, ensures that in their spiritual reality, they do not sin. The Holy Spirit's presence in their lives transforms their desires, leading them to walk in the paths of righteousness rather than sin.
