How do we know that believers do not sin in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

We know believers do not sin because 1 John 3:9 teaches that those born of God cannot sin.

1 John 3:9 asserts that 'Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin.' This statement ties directly to the doctrine of regeneration, where believers are said to have a new nature that cannot sin. The notion that sin does not define the believer's identity is reinforced by God’s perspective, which differs from our subjective experience. While we may struggle with sin in our lives, in Christ, we are declared righteous and sinless. The reality of being in Christ transforms our standing before God, making us new creations free from condemnation (Romans 8:1).
