How do we know that believers never really die?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus taught that believers never die; they only experience a brief separation from their bodies before being with Him.

In His teaching, Jesus indicates that although believers experience physical death, they do not die in the spiritual sense. As stated in John 11:25-26, He declares, 'He that liveth and believeth in me shall never die.' This signifies that for believers, physical death is merely a separation of the soul from the body, but the soul continues to exist in the presence of the Lord. The Scriptures affirm that upon death, a believer's soul is immediately with Christ, thus challenging the perception of death as a form of eternal separation. The state of the soul post-death reflects the truth that we are eternally secure in Christ's love and mercy.
