How do we know that Christ alone accomplishes salvation?

Answered in 1 source

It is clear from Scripture that salvation must be accomplished by Christ alone, without any human contribution.

In John 13:33, Jesus reassures His disciples about His impending departure, indicating that He must accomplish the work of salvation on His own. This necessity arises because any human contribution would defile the sacrifice needed for salvation. The Old Testament sacrificial system illustrates this; only the high priest could enter the Holy of Holies with the blood of the sacrifice, representing Christ's singular role as our great high priest. Therefore, the sovereignty of Christ in accomplishing salvation ensures that it is secure and effective. If salvation were dependent on anything we offered, it would not be certain, but because it rests solely on Christ's actions, we can have confidence in our salvation.
