How do we know that Christ came to save His people?

Answered in 3 sources

We know Christ came to save His people through the fulfillment of Scripture and His role as the promised Messiah, as proclaimed by angels and carried throughout the New Testament.

The doctrine of Christ's coming to save His people is rooted deeply in the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy and the testimony of the New Testament. In Luke 2:11, the angel declares, 'For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.' This proclamation reveals that Christ's incarnation was not random but a divinely orchestrated event to fulfill God's promise of salvation to His chosen people. Additionally, throughout the Gospel narratives, Christ's works confirm His identity as the Messiah who came to lay down His life for His sheep, as seen in John 10:11. This sacrificial love illustrates that His mission was specific: to reconcile a people chosen by grace with their God. Thus, through prophetic announcements and the ministry of Christ, we are assured that He came as Savior, fulfilling His purpose of salvation for His people.
