How do we know that Christ compels a total commitment for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ compels total commitment by showing that nothing can compete with our relationship with Him for salvation (Mark 10:21-22).

In Mark 10:21-22, Jesus tells the rich young ruler to sell all that he has, give to the poor, and follow Him, indicating that true discipleship and commitment to Christ require placing Him above all earthly possessions and relationships. The act of following Christ necessitates a complete surrender of one's self and all that one values. This challenge reveals that for many, their greatest obstacle to salvation is their own attachments and desires. Christ's demand is not just to comply outwardly but to render oneself entirely dependent on Him for eternal life.
