How do we know that Christ governs our hearts?

Answered in 1 source

We know Christ governs our hearts when our desires align with His will, leading us to prioritize Him above all else.

The governance of Christ in our hearts is evident in how we seek to please Him above everything. When Christ is the object of our hearts, our lives reflect His values over worldly pursuits. This relationship produces a profound transformation whereby our old desires give way to a longing for spiritual things. As stated in John 17:14, believers are not of this world, and this separation is a testament to the influence Christ has on our hearts and thoughts. His governance leads us to seek His presence and the fulfillment found in service to Him, resulting in a life characterized by devotion and worship.
