How do we know that Christ has authority over evil spirits?

The authority of Christ over evil spirits is clearly displayed throughout the Gospels. In Mark 1:23-27, an unclean spirit acknowledges Jesus as 'the Holy One of God' and obeys His command to be silent and come out of a man. This establishes that Christ has the ultimate authority, even over the spiritual realm. Therefore, we see that even demons are subject to His power, which affirms His divinity and sovereignty. The acknowledgment by evil spirits of Christ’s authority provides reassurance of His dominion over all creation, including spiritual forces.
