How do we know that Christ has the authority to save?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's authority to save is rooted in His divine power, as God has given all things into His hands (Matthew 11:27).

The authority of Christ to save comes from His unique position as the mediator established by God. In Matthew 11:27, Jesus states, 'All things have been delivered to me by my Father,' signifying His sovereign power over all creation, including sin and death. It is only through this divine authority that He can offer salvation, for He holds power over all flesh to grant eternal life (John 17:2). This assurance of salvation is founded upon His capacity to overcome sin and death, and to provide genuine rest to those who come to Him and believe.
