How do we know that Christ is better than the angels?

Answered in 2 sources

We know Christ is better than the angels because He inherited a more excellent name and the Father affirmed His unique status.

According to Hebrews 1, Christ is superior to the angels, as stated in verse 4, which says He became so much better than the angels by inheritance. This means that He holds a unique title and position that no angel possesses, and this was publicly confirmed during His baptism when God declared, 'This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased' (Matthew 3:17). The distinction between Christ and the angels serves to remind believers of His authority and the unique role He fulfills as the mediator between God and man. The angels are indeed servants, but Christ is the Son who rules over all, making His role in salvation and lordship universally unparalleled.
