How do we know that Christ is central to salvation?

Answered in 5 sources

Christ is central to salvation because it is through His righteousness that believers are justified and saved (Ephesians 1:4).

Salvation is entirely dependent on Christ. Ephesians 1:4 states that God chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, highlighting that our salvation originates from God’s sovereign choice in Christ. Every essential aspect of salvation—justification, redemption, and regeneration—centers on Christ. His righteousness becomes our righteousness; His blood redeems us; and through His Spirit, we are given a new nature. Therefore, without Christ at the center of salvation, we would have no hope. He is the basis of our faith and assurance, indicating that all things pertaining to our salvation are rooted in Him.
