How do we know that Christ is central to the message of Ecclesiastes?

Answered in 1 source

Ecclesiastes focuses on the futility of life without God and ultimately points to Christ as the answer to our emptiness.

The linkage of Christ to the message of Ecclesiastes is made clear through the identity of the preacher—the son of David, who is a type of Christ. The spirit led Solomon to declare that everything outside of Christ is vanity, thus pointing to the necessity of a relationship with Him to find purpose. Furthermore, the entirety of Scripture, including Ecclesiastes, testifies of Christ as the Word of God who alone fills the void of human efforts. Since true fulfillment comes only in Him, the message of Ecclesiastes becomes a profound testament to the enduring value of trusting in God.
