How do we know that Christ is sufficient for our salvation?

Answered in 8 sources

Christ's sufficiency for salvation is illustrated in the story of the widow's oil, demonstrating that faith in Him alone meets all our spiritual needs.

The story of the widow and her pot of oil serves as a powerful metaphor for the sufficiency of Christ in salvation. Just as the widow had only one pot of oil, we, too, may feel we possess little in terms of personal worth or merit. However, the miracle that unfolded when the oil flowed into empty vessels illustrates that God works through our insufficiencies to accomplish His purposes. Christ alone is sufficient for our justification, sanctification, and ultimately our glorification. In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead (Colossians 2:9), meaning that all aspects of our salvation are secured in Him. When we recognize that our righteousness and acceptance before God depend solely on Christ, we are led to a place of rest and reliance on His grace, affirming that He is all we need for every spiritual need we may have.
