How do we know that Christ is superior to angels?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's superiority over angels is affirmed by His divine nature, His title as the Son of God, and His authority as Creator.

Hebrews 1:4-6 presents a powerful argument for Christ's superiority over angels, stating that He has obtained a more excellent name than they. Unlike angels, who are created beings, Christ is the eternal God. His title as the 'Son of God' is unique to Him, as God has never declared any angel to be His son (Hebrews 1:5). Additionally, the book of Hebrews emphasizes that Christ, as the God-man, embodies both divinity and humanity, having fulfilled His role as our Mediator and Surety with perfect success. It is this blend of His eternal divine nature and His role as our Savior that positions Him infinitely above the angels.
