How do we know that Christ is the Good Shepherd?

Answered in 3 sources

We know Christ is the Good Shepherd through His self-revelation in Scripture and His fulfillment of the role depicted in the Old Testament.

The certainty of Christ being the Good Shepherd is affirmed through His own declarations in the New Testament, particularly in John 10, where He explicitly states His identity and His mission. Moreover, the prophecies of the Old Testament, such as Ezekiel 34, forecasted the coming of a shepherd who would care for God's people. In claiming the title of Good Shepherd, Jesus not only identifies with these prophecies but also demonstrates His divine authority and union with the Father. His works, His sacrifice, and His intimate knowledge of His sheep affirm His role as the Shepherd of God’s flock, consoling believers in their faith journey.
