How do we know that Christ is the true Shepherd?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is recognized as the true Shepherd because He came through the lawful door and calls His sheep by name.

In John 10:7-8, Jesus is depicted as the true Shepherd who mirrors the prophecies and requirements outlined in the Scriptures. His legitimate entrance into the sheepfold signifies His authority, as He entered in accordance with God's ordained plan. The true sheep recognize His voice, illustrating their relationship with Him—marked by trust and acknowledgment of His guidance. Additionally, His ability to lead them out of bondage, as well as the fulfillment of prophecy regarding the Messiah, corroborates His identity as the true Shepherd contrasted with false shepherds like the Pharisees who sought to mislead the people.
