How do we know that Christ is worthy to open the book in Revelation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is deemed worthy to open the book because He is the Lamb who was slain, representing both His sacrificial work and divine authority.

In Revelation 5, it is declared that only the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, is worthy to open the seals of the book. This is affirmed as the elder instructs John to stop weeping, revealing the significance of Christ as the Lamb. His worthiness comes from His dual nature as fully God and fully man—He has the authority to execute the retrieval of God's eternal plan and fully understands and fulfills the requirements of divine justice. His victory over sin and death through the cross confirms that He is the only one capable of revealing and enacting God's redemptive purpose.
