How do we know that Christ loves us?

Answered in 9 sources

Christ's love is evident in His sacrifice on the cross and His continuous intercession for believers, showing that His love is unconditional and unchanging.

We discern Christ's love primarily through His sacrificial act of salvation, which is the foundation of a believer's relationship with Him. According to Ephesians 2:4, God, rich in mercy, loves us even when we were spiritually dead. This act of quickening us to new life illustrates the depth of His love. The Apostle Paul reminds us that Christ's love is not contingent upon our circumstances or our worthiness, but flows from His character. Christ’s statement in John 13:1, 'Having loved His own, He loved them to the end,' affirms that His love remains steadfast, even amid trials or when we may feel unworthy. This assurance provides comfort to believers, as we lean on the unchanging nature of Christ’s affection, regardless of our present experiences or doubts.
