How do we know that Christ provides righteousness?

Answered in 1 source

Christ provides righteousness through His obedience and sacrifice.

The doctrine of Christ's righteousness is central to the Christian faith. According to Romans 3:22, 'Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe.' Christ fulfilled the righteous requirements of the law perfectly, and His obedience is credited to believers. This is not a righteousness of our own but is imputed to us through faith. As Isaiah 42:21 states, 'The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law and make it honorable.' Thus, our standing before God is dependent solely on the righteousness of Christ rather than any merit of our own.
