How do we know that Christ's atonement was sufficient?

Answered in 2 sources

Christ's atonement is sufficient as He offered Himself as a perfect, sinless sacrifice, once for all, fulfilling the requirements of God’s justice.

The sufficiency of Christ's atonement is assured by His perfection as the sinless Son of God. Unlike the high priests who offered sacrifices repeatedly for their own sins and the sins of the people, Jesus did not have to offer a sacrifice for Himself because He was already without sin. His once-for-all sacrifice on the cross secured eternal redemption for those He came to save, fulfilling the demands of God’s justice by taking upon Himself the penalty that sinners deserve. Thus, the blood of Christ is the ultimate covering and payment for sin, which fully satisfies God's requirements for justice and mercy.
