How do we know that Christ's call to follow Him is genuine?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's call to follow Him is genuine because it is grounded in His authority and love for those He redeems.

We can be confident in the genuineness of Christ's call to follow Him based on the nature of His authority and the evidence of His transforming love. In John 10, Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd who calls His sheep by name, ensuring they hear and respond to His voice. His call is irresistible because it comes with the promise of transformation and a new purpose in life (Matthew 4:19). When He calls us, it is not merely an invitation, but a divine summons that brings about a change in our hearts and desires, leading us away from paths of self-reliance towards complete dependence on Him.
