How do we know that Christ's death fulfilled the Old Testament sacrifices?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's death was the ultimate sacrifice, fulfilling the Old Testament system of atonement.

The Old Testament sacrificial system was a foreshadowing of the ultimate sacrifice that Christ would make on the cross. According to Hebrews 10:1-4, the sacrifices could not take away sin fully, as they were merely types and shadows of what was to come. Christ, being the perfect Lamb of God, fulfilled and completed these sacrifices by offering Himself once for all. His death marked the end of the Old Testament ceremonial law, as He provided the final and full atonement for the sins of His people, thus establishing a new covenant between God and humanity.
