How do we know that Christ's death redeems us?

Answered in 2 sources

Christ's death redeems us because it satisfies God's justice and fulfills the eternal covenant made on our behalf.

The redemption brought forth by Christ's death fundamentally rests upon the premise of God's justice and mercy. As preached, Jesus Christ bore our sins and suffered the wrath of God in our place, completing the necessary requirements of justice. The Scriptures declare this with clarity: 'He was delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God' (Acts 2:23). This event was not a mere accident but orchestrated by God’s sovereign will to bring redemption to His elect. When Christ declared, 'It is finished,' He confirmed that the price was fully paid, thus securing our redemption. Hence, those who trust in Him are justified and set free from guilt and condemnation.
