How do we know that Christ's friendship is unconditional?

Answered in 2 sources

Christ’s friendship is unconditional because He loves sinners regardless of their actions, as illustrated throughout Scripture.

The unconditional nature of Christ's friendship is evident in His interactions with sinners throughout the Gospels. We see that He did not require individuals to clean up their lives prior to coming to Him; rather, He welcomed them as they were. For instance, in John 15:13, the Scriptures state, 'Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends,' illustrating that Jesus's self-sacrifice on the cross was the ultimate expression of unconditional love for sinners. This love is not based on what sinners do but on who He is — a merciful and gracious Savior who seeks out those who are lost.
