How do we know that Christ's righteousness covers us?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible affirms that we are clothed in Christ's righteousness, which is imputed to us, making us beautiful in God's sight.

Isaiah 61:10 states that God clothes His people with the garments of salvation and the robe of righteousness. This means that our own righteousness is likened to 'filthy rags' (Isaiah 64:6), and any beauty we possess before God is solely attributed to Christ’s righteousness. In Ezekiel 16, we see God as the one who adorns His people, transforming them from corrupt sinners into a beautiful church. Therefore, when we 'put on' our beautiful garments, we are essentially putting on Christ—the true essence of our righteousness comes from Him alone. Believers are made beautiful through His comeliness, which God has placed upon us.
