How do we know that Christ's righteousness is true?

Answered in 3 sources

Christ's righteousness is affirmed in scripture as a gift from God, given to believers who have faith in Him and cannot be earned by human effort.

The doctrine of righteousness in Christ, articulated in 2 Corinthians 5:21, assures us that He who knew no sin became sin for us so that we might be made the righteousness of God. This is not a righteousness we can attain through our efforts or adherence to the law, as Paul points out in Romans 10. The Jewish people had a zeal for God but were ignorant of His righteousness, relying instead on their own. True righteousness is a humbling realization that it is God's righteousness, given freely to us through faith, that justifies us before Him.
