How do we know that Christ's work on the cross is complete?

Answered in 2 sources

We know Christ's work is complete because He proclaimed it finished before His death, confirming the sufficiency of His sacrifice for salvation.

In John 17:5, Jesus prays, asking the Father to glorify Him with the glory He had before the world existed, demonstrating His confidence in the completion of His mission. The ultimate indication of the completeness of Christ's work is found in His declaration 'It is finished' (John 19:30) at the moment of His death, signifying that the requirements of the law were met, and the debt of sin was fully paid. Thus, the finished work of Christ on the cross assures believers that there remains no condemnation for those who are in Him, affirming the certainty of their salvation and union with Christ.
