How do we know that Christians will be with God after death?

Answered in 1 source

Christians will be with God after death because they possess eternal life through faith in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:1).

According to 2 Corinthians 5:1, 'For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens'. This passage reassures believers that upon death, they are not left in a state of nothingness but enter into a new existence in the presence of God. The assurance comes from the salvific work of Christ, whereby He has prepared a place for His followers to dwell eternally in glory. Thus, the Christian hope is based firmly on the promises of God and the completed work of Christ.
