How do we know that Communion is not a means of salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Communion is not a means of salvation because salvation is found solely through faith in Christ's completed work on the cross.

The notion that Communion could be a means of salvation undermines the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice. Hebrews 10:14 tells us that by one offering, He has perfected forever those who are sanctified. This clearly shows that no additional offerings or rituals are necessary for salvation. The bread and wine are symbolic of what Christ has already accomplished through His death and resurrection, reaffirming that our salvation is complete in Him alone. Thus, participation in Communion reaffirms our faith and rest in the finished work of Christ rather than suggesting any form of works-based salvation.
