How do we know that death is better than birth for believers?

In Ecclesiastes 7:1, Solomon declares that the day of death is better than the day of one's birth. This profound statement is true for believers as death signifies the end of the struggle with sin and the beginning of eternal life in the presence of God. While birth introduces one into a world fraught with sin and suffering, death liberates the believer from the body of sin and ushers them into a state of eternal perfection and rest (2 Corinthians 5:8). The believer's death, therefore, is a transition to communion with Christ, far surpassing the joys of earthly existence.
