How do we know that death is not the end for the Christian?

Answered in 1 source

Christians believe that death leads to immediate fellowship with Christ, affirming that it is not the end.

The Bible assures us that for those who are united with Christ in faith, death is not the end but a transition into the presence of the Lord. As stated in 2 Corinthians 5:8, 'We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.' This indicates that when believers die, their souls are immediately in the presence of Christ. Moreover, Philippians 1:23 reflects the Apostle Paul's conviction that to die is 'gain' because it brings believers into closer communion with Christ. This hope is rooted in the promise of resurrection, which affirms that the separation of body and spirit is temporary for the believers in Christ.
