How do we know that eternal life is assured for believers?

Answered in 2 sources

Believers are assured of eternal life through their faith in Jesus Christ, who is their righteousness.

Eternal life is a promise made to those who believe in Christ. As stated in 1 John 5:13, John writes, 'I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.' This assurance is based not on our works but on Christ's redemptive work on the cross. He is our righteousness before the Father, guaranteeing our acceptance. Therefore, our confidence rests on His sufficiency and the assurance that we are loved and accepted in Him, despite our ongoing struggles with sin.
