How do we know that faith is accompanied by works?

Answered in 1 source

James 2:14 asserts that genuine faith is evidenced by works, as true belief naturally produces obedience.

James 2:14 poses a rhetorical question regarding the nature of faith and its relation to works: 'What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he have faith, and have not works?' This suggests that mere declaration of faith without accompanying action is ineffective and ultimately meaningless. Genuine faith is a gift from God that produces transformation and action within the believer. The Apostle Paul also stresses the importance of works as a sign of true faith in Ephesians 2:8-10, indicating that while we are saved by grace through faith, we are created in Christ Jesus for good works. Thus, true faith must produce fruit in the life of the believer.
