How do we know that faith is more than just belief?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is evidenced by actions; true faith in God results in a transformative lifestyle and choices that reflect a commitment to Him.

Moses' faith exemplifies that genuine belief manifests itself through actions. In Hebrews 11, it is clear that faith is not simply an intellectual agreement but a dynamic force that compels individuals to act. Moses decided to suffer with God's people instead of enjoying the temporary pleasures of sin, indicating that his faith was a living faith that actively chose God and His ways, even under pressure. The scripture teaches that faith without action is dead (James 2:26). Hence, a faith that does not result in a life transformed by God’s grace is not true faith at all.
