How do we know that faith is real?

Answered in 1 source

We know faith is real by its results, particularly through good deeds that manifest from it.

The reality of faith is discerned through its effects in a believer's life. James highlights that deeds are not the cause of faith but are necessary expressions that validate its authenticity. An active faith produces acts of obedience and grace, akin to how a healthy tree produces fruit. Manton emphasizes that when faith is unused and devoid of works, it essentially becomes lifeless and thus serves no purpose for salvation. True faith, invigorated by the Spirit, naturally leads to a life characterized by good works, which serve as a testament to its genuineness.
