How do we know that faith must be tried?

Answered in 1 source

Faith must be tried to demonstrate its genuineness and strength.

In James 1:3, it clearly states that the trying of our faith works patience. Trials are the proving ground for faith; they reveal whether our faith is genuine or counterfeit. Just as metals are tested in fire, believers' faith is tested through life's adversities. This testing is not merely for God's benefit; it is essential for us to see the reality of our faith and for others to witness it through our perseverance. By enduring trials, we learn to rely on God and experience the strengthening of our faith, further confirming our place among God's elect.
