How do we know that fellowship with God is possible?

Answered in 1 source

Fellowship with God is possible through the grace and reconciliation provided by Jesus Christ.

Fellowship with God is not attainable through our own efforts or moral behaviors; instead, it is entirely dependent on the work of Jesus Christ. The Apostle John illustrates that our ability to walk with God comes through agreement with Him about His Son. Just as in 2 Corinthians 5, where God was reconciling the world to Himself through Christ, our relationship is restored not by our righteousness but by the righteousness of Christ. Thus, when we acknowledge our inability to meet God's standards on our own, we come to understand that it is only through Christ’s substitutionary sacrifice that we can have true communion with the Holy God.
