How do we know that fellowship with God is possible?

Answered in 2 sources

Fellowship with God is made possible through the incarnation of Christ, who shared in our humanity.

We know that fellowship with God is possible because Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man, became incarnate. Hebrews 2:14 teaches that since children share in flesh and blood, He also shared in their humanity. This means that God took on flesh to establish a common ground with humanity, allowing us to restore the lost fellowship. The restoration of fellowship is integral to salvation, which is described in Romans 8:29 as being conformed to the image of His Son. Therefore, through Christ's work and our union with Him, we can truly experience fellowship with God and one another as believers.
