How do we know that giving is a grace?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible presents giving as a grace bestowed by God, reflecting the generosity of Christ towards us.

In 2 Corinthians 8:1, Paul speaks of the grace of God given to the Macedonian churches, which resulted in their generous giving despite their poverty and affliction. This indicates that true giving originates from God's work in our hearts. As believers, we have received the greatest gift of grace in Christ who gave Himself for us (2 Corinthians 8:9). Hence, our acts of giving are an outpouring of that grace we have received, meant to reflect the love and generosity of our Savior. This makes giving a privilege rather than a duty, as we express our gratitude for His grace by generously supporting the needs of others.
