How do we know that God allows Satan to act against believers?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible reveals that Satan operates under the sovereignty of God and can only do what God permits.

Scriptural accounts, such as the story of Job, demonstrate that Satan acts only within the limits set by God. In Job 1:12, God permits Satan to test Job, showing that even the enemy's actions are under divine control. Similarly, in Luke 22:31, Jesus tells Peter that Satan desires to sift him, emphasizing that Satan's intentions are known and allowed by God for a greater purpose. Thus, when trials arise, it’s essential for believers to remember that God is sovereign and His plans ultimately prevail, even through the adversarial actions of Satan.
