How do we know that God alone accomplishes salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible provides multiple affirmations that salvation is solely by God's grace and not by human will.

Romans 9:16 states, 'So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.' This verse reinforces the concept that human desire or effort cannot secure salvation; it is entirely at the discretion of God to bestow mercy. Additionally, Philippians 1:6 assures believers that the good work begun in them by God will be completed, further illustrating that God's initiative and sovereignty are fundamental to the salvation process. We see that from start to finish, salvation is about what God has done, not what people do.
