How do we know that God can be known?

Answered in 2 sources

We know God can be known through His self-revelation, particularly in creation and Scripture, which reveals aspects of His nature and will.

While it is true that God is incomprehensible in His essence and ways—reflected in Romans 11:33-34—He is also knowable to the extent that He chooses to reveal Himself. Revelation is essential for any true knowledge of God; humanity cannot ascertain who God is on their own but relies on what He discloses through creation, Scripture, and ultimately through His Son, Jesus Christ. Herman Bavinck rightly points out that religion and the knowledge of God originate solely from His revelation, making it clear that our understanding of God is contingent upon His willingness to disclose Himself. Therefore, we affirm that while God is beyond our full grasp, He has made Himself accessible and knowable through His divine revelation.
