How do we know that God cannot dwell in buildings made by man?

Answered in 1 source

God cannot be contained in man-made structures because He is the Creator of all things.

The Bible makes it clear that God dwells neither in temples made by hands nor is He confined to any physical location. As stated in Isaiah 66:1-2, the heavens are His throne and the earth His footstool. Solomon, in 2 Chronicles 2:5, acknowledges that no house can contain God, affirming His absolute sovereignty and omnipresence. Instead, God seeks to create a dwelling place within the hearts of the humble and contrite, as these are the ones He regards and to whom He gives His presence.
