How do we know that God cares during our trials?

Answered in 1 source

God's care can be seen in His promise to never forsake His people, even when they feel abandoned, as expressed in Romans 8.

In times of trial, believers may feel as though God is distant or unconcerned. However, Scripture assures us of His steadfast care. David, in Psalm 44, cries out to God, feeling forsaken yet still addresses God with fervent prayer, believing that God is able to redeem and help. This dynamic reflects the truth that God is intimately aware of our suffering. Romans 8 amplifies this assurance, affirming that nothing can separate us from God's love, reinforcing the belief that His presence and care persist even when trials obscur our vision of His goodness. Thus, believers can approach God boldly, trusting in His merciful character, even amid suffering.
