How do we know that God cares for our souls?

Answered in 1 source

God's care for our souls is demonstrated through His attentiveness to our cries and His willingness to deliver us from trouble.

In David's lament in Psalm 142, he poignantly states that despite feeling abandoned—'no man cared for my soul'—he turns his heart to God, calling out for help. Throughout Scripture, God’s unwavering attention to His people is evident. In 1 Peter 5:7, we are instructed to cast our anxieties on Him because He cares for us. This is further emphasized in the assurance of deliverance found in Psalm 34:6, which says, 'This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.' Thus, God’s caring nature is foundational to our faith.
